Whether you’re just starting your YouTube journey or feeling a little stuck, I hope you find encouragement here. You’re not behind. You’re not invisible. You’re just growing roots no one can see yet — and that’s beautiful.
When Discouragement Hits
It’s 5 in the morning. You uploaded your second video four days ago, and you’re feeling excited — because you just know your latest upload was a hit. You followed everything the YouTubers said, so you’re sure you’re about to rack up those 4,000 watch hours.
Only to find…
- You have just over 20 views.
- You lost a subscriber.
- Your view duration is dropping.
Sounds discouraging, right? Yeah. That’s exactly how I felt when I looked at my analytics this morning.
It is discouraging. It’s disappointing. Honestly, it made me want to quit.
Catching the Negative Spiral
After praying and sitting on the side of my bed for a while, I started sifting through all the negative thoughts swirling in my head. And this is what I realized:
It’s only been four days. Not even a full week. And here I was — already starting the dramatics. Maybe you are too.
If You’re Reading This, It’s for You
If you’re reading this blog, take it as your sign:
- Start the YouTube channel.
- Keep creating content, even if no one is watching yet.
I know I don’t have a lot of subscribers yet, but I know this much: A house built in a few days won’t be stable. You need a strong foundation — and that takes time. Steady growth is the best growth.
Why Steady Growth Matters
Sure, going viral would be amazing. But is that really the best way to grow?
I’ve heard from so many creators who blew up quickly, only to feel stuck — pressured to keep chasing views instead of creating what truly makes them happy. Trends die fast. I’ve seen people gain thousands of subscribers in a flash, only to struggle to get 1,000 views later. This isn’t to tear anyone down — it’s just a reminder: Slow, steady growth can be a blessing.
Trust the Process
I said this briefly in a previous video, but it’s worth repeating:
This is normal.
There are a million videos telling you how to get 1,000 subs in a week, or how to get all your watch hours from a single viral post. They’re encouraging, and sometimes true — but for most of us, it doesn’t happen that way. Some of us have to build brick by brick, quietly and patiently and trust in God’s process.
Keep uploading as if everyone’s already watching. Even if you have no subscribers yet. Even if nobody’s liking your videos…YET.
Your Roots Are Growing
Everybody’s journey will look different. Keep sowing seeds and tending your garden, even when you can’t see anything growing yet. Flowers don’t bloom overnight. But the roots are growing beneath the soil.
Be patient. Don’t let discouragement win. Keep moving forward.
You’re not stuck until you stop.
Thank you for being here. If you needed this reminder today, know you’re not alone.
